In 1983 when 2000AD asked him to create a more Englishly version of the smash hit film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial the result was Skizz which followed the same structure as the Steve Speilberg film but was instead set in the decidedly non-glamorous location of Birmingham. Even if the story is just a basic "fish out of water" type-thing (alien lands on Earth - doesn't understand our human ways etc) - it's pretty inventive (check how he establishments the alien society though the dialogue in the first few pages) and pretty funny ("flipping heck). It's like a really good Sunday tea-time thing: wholesome fun for the whole family.
